About Me
With a law degree in my pocket, I've carved out a 20+ year career in the nonprofit sector. I served as executive director of an emergency services agency in the Greater Cleveland area for almost a decade and most recently worked in business development for a local community foundation. While quarantined during the COVID-19 pandemic, I asked myself a significant question: Am I spending my time and talent in a way that fulfills me? If not -- what am I going to do about it?
And there it is. The reason for the abrupt pivot. That's huge for someone who habitually analyzes each and every move she makes, typically more than once, even twice. Spontaneous decisions have never been my M.O., but here I am...embarking on a new venture as a nonprofit communications and business development consultant. Yikes! There. I've said it out loud.
So, what's next? First, I won't lie. In a perfect world, I'd write fiction all day. I've tried twice to find a literary agent to help me publish my work. But alas, those two manuscripts still sit on a shelf collecting dust. I'm not giving up on my dreams of sitting oceanside with a coffee in one hand and my laptop in the other, scheduling book tour dates and plotting my next literary masterpiece. In fact, I'm getting ready to query a new project, WHEN GRACE IS LOST, Adult Women's Fiction. Stay tuned on how that goes...
In the meantime, I'm embracing this new idea of becoming an entrepreneur. Taking what I've learned along the way and helping others move their projects from brainstorming to completion. Telling stories, planning content, coaching writers, copy editing, and proofreading—a one-stop-shop for anyone in need of communications consulting.
